Upstate Safety Day
Greenville associates Lindsay McMillan and Kristy Kelley took some time out of their busy schedules to talk to some local Montessori School students about their passion for their industry. The Mauldin Montessori School in Mauldin, SC planned a special day for their summer students revolving around safety. They invited special guests from the Mauldin Police Department, Greenville County Sherriff’s K-9 Unit and thanks to associate Lindsey McMillan, Palmetto Ambulance Service had the privilege to represent the EMS industry. Lindsey coordinated and planned her presentation for the students including demonstrations of back boarding and splinting a patient, tours of the ambulance (she even let some of the kids try out the siren!) and a short talk about some summer safety tips. Students watched the demonstrations, asked questions and got some hands on experience assisting in back boarding and stabilizing one of their teachers! Following the presentations for the older students Lindsay and Kristy had the opportunity to pass out some safety themed coloring books (thanks to Safe Kids Upstate) to the younger classes.
These two ladies displayed a great passion for EMS and represented Palmetto Ambulance with care, compassion and professionalism. A special thanks goes out to Lindsay McMillan and Kristy Kelley who epitomize the Palmetto mission of providing "Hands That care".
