It's National EMS Week!  And it's time for celebration in Greenville.  The associates arrived at in-service on Tuesday night to be met by extra special "thank-yous".  A big cake displaying a PAS ambulance reading "Happy EMS Week" and special gifts of a pocket knife and water bottle were just small tokens of the appreciation for everything that these special people do on a daily basis.  Area Supervisor, Karen Young, got up and thanked everyone for their service and professionalism.  Greenville PR Representative, Clint Richey, relayed some special stories of associates going above and beyond to make sure that patient care always comes first.  "Recently, a long time patient of PAS lost her son who was her primary care giver.  Several associates stepped up to check in on her and make sure she was taken care of and continued to ask about her.  We had another recent situation, in which, a patient lost her daughter and our associates stepped up to make sure that she was able to visit her just before she passed away.  Our team also made sure she was able to attend the funeral.  These are just some of the things that remind us that we have the best associates in the business!"  President and CEO, Keith Stille, reminded everyone that this was a special week to honor what we do and that he is thankful everyday for the devotion and hard work of everyone.

As part of the night's activities, the associates were finally able to see the Greenville premier of Palmetto Nights!  Palmetto Ambulance's blockbuster new movie made its official debut at the S.C.H.C.A. Conference in Myrtle Beach, SC this year.  Even though several had taken a sneak peak on our website, everyone got some great laughs and erupted in applause at the closing credits.  Many did seem a little star struck that one the films leading men, Clint Richey, was in the room with them.  Mr. Stille talked about how the convention went and some of the excitement over new relationships that are being built across the state.

Before everyone got started on their scheduled in-service training, Karen stepped up and announced the Associate of the Month Award.  This month’s award winner was Mary Greene!  Mary is an EMT-Basic who is second only to Karen as the most senior Associate in Greenville.  She has been with Palmetto Ambulance for over 5 years.  Mary has been an EMT for 6 years and has worked in the health care industry for almost 20 years in several capacities from a CNA to a home health care provider.  She said the most rewarding part of her job is, "just getting to take care of people... knowing that I'm helping someone."
