Order up! One scramble with cheese plate, hash brown covered, smothered, diced, junked, and topped. Does this sound familiar? It may not be your exact order, but EMS workers can attest to which restaurants I am referring. Some of you may even consider these restaurants hallowed ground, thinking its home cooking. The table in the back, just before the jukebox, near the restrooms should have affixed above the bench seats, Reserved EMS Workers Only. Ah the life style of an EMS worker: pile it on the plate, make it quick, and Ill wash it down with a jolt of caffeine.
If you have been in the EMS industry for any length of time, you know exactly what I mean. Caution, if you are nodding your head in a positive motion, acknowledging you are addicted. If you are just beginning, be for warned any restaurant with the word House, in its name, is not home, it can be addictive and like most restaurants, they are not healthy. May I have another scoop of butter please?
Its no secret America is getting BIGGER, and so are EMS workers and their families. Today, Palmetto Ambulance Service launched its BIGGEST Loser Contest, and will be accepting participants up until April 1, 2010. The contest will run from April 5, 2010 to July 26, 2010. Palmetto will contribute $50/contestant that participates in the contest for a minimum of 8 weeks. All proceeds will be distributed to the top three winners based on percentage of weight loss. So join the fun and lets get healthy, for not only ourselves, but those around us as well.
