Along with his second in command, Tom Stille, he arrived at the Columbia station ready to rally the troops in what was sure to be an in-service to remember.

The evening began with gourmet vegetable soup and cornbread prepared by Janet Bennett and Derrick Phillips, in honor of our visiting dignitaries. Once the meal was over Area Supervisor, Derrick Phillips kicked off the festivities by honoring the men and women who performed above and beyond this past month.

Next Katie McNeill and Shameke Priester received the Ambulance Pride Award, for their unending dedication to order and cleanliness. Once again the Medicab team of Donna Parks, Darlene Holmes and Vincent Worthy took to the stage in a unified front to accept the Medicab Pride Award. Just as she sat back down, Donna Parks was called once again to the podium and was presented with Employee of the Month, in recognition of her leadership and professionalism in the field.

As he strode to the podium one could not help but hear the tune, Hail to the Chief, playing in the background. With the eloquence of a Harvard professor (which oddly sounds a lot like a southern boy from Georgia), President Stille painted a picture of Palmetto Ambulance as a shining city on a hill, that is now offering a new insurance plan to meet the needs of our associates. When he finished the drivers cheered, EMTs thrust their fist in the air chanting this is the year of Palmetto Ambulance and grown men wept (well just Tom and Ronnie). With our feet on solid ground and our eyes on the future, we are all ready to make 2010 in Columbia our best year yet.
