After a hard day at work, the Greenville Division decided to relax and unwind at a local bowling alley, sharing in what some consider the finest sport known to man. Obviously, with football season peaking around the corner and Bowl-A-Rama located in the middle of Tiger Country, many may, arguably, disagree with that perspective; however, on the evening of Thursday, July 30, 2009, it was about a round ball, a round shiny plastic ball. Color and size didnt matter; pigskin was substituted for plastic, strings for holes and the only question remaining was, Who's on my team? |
For weeks, bantering about Who could do what and how bad it was going to be, was heard throughout the office. With the gauntlet down, the fairest way to assign teams was to have each associate draw a number assigning them to a team. It didn't take long for teams to warm up to their partners and Bowl-A-Rama to begin. |
To remain in the winners bracket, teams competed across six lanes for the highest team score. It didn't take "Spin Master" Leebo and cohorts long to make quick work of their first round foe, The Absent Ones. And as rumors had it, "Sweep'em Up" Nick came to take care of business, as he and teammates, "Swift Foot" James and "Reliable" Lynn bowled right through the first round. However, "Knock'em Down" Mary and crew were not going to be out done as they set the pace for one of the highest scores of the evening. |
The evening was great, I mean think about it; Great Company, Good Food .. and Tons of ENTERTAINMENT! In the final game of the evening, for all the marbles, well in this case 8 hours vacation going to each participant of the winning team, we saw two powerful teams go head to head with the winner closing it out in the 10th frame. The final game featured "Sweep'em Up" Nick, "Swift Foot" James and "Reliable Lynn" on one team versus "Knock'em Down" Mary, "Smooth Throwing" Derrick and "Bust'em Up" Alan. No one was disappointed or hungry, and the three amigos (Mary, Derrick and Alan) proved too much for the three banditos, this night anyway... |
